Unleash what’s possible

Maggie Heffelfinger

Short Term Disability Team Leader

Group Benefits

Guardian colleague since 1988

Maggie was nominated by Keisha McElligott for her hard work leading the cleanup of the backlog in claims to meet turnaround time goals.

Maggie trained more than 40 contingent workers and led a team of more than 18 colleagues to help improve a backlog in claims and the volume of claim escalations to meet turnaround times in Short-Term Disability (STD).

What Keisha McElligott had to say
Without Maggie’s guidance, we would not have been able to move the needle across this work. She unleashed what we thought was impossible and proved it was truly possible. She’s a pivotal part of the Claims organization and she is a go-to for many of our internal partners, as she always puts the needs of others first. She has and continues to be a wonderful champion for change as we continue through this transformational period within our organization.
What Maggie had to say
This recognition shows we are all empowered to lead in our work, to help solve problems, and work across teams to improve our departments and businesses. This is a tremendous honor and I simply wanted to prove to myself that I could do this work and help our backlog in claims.
